Upper grade students are paired with primary students to build a sense of belonging and connectedness. Students work on academic areas or classroom projects and activities.
The Lincoln School Chorus forms each fall at the beginning of the school year and continues through December. It is an exciting program where children get to improve their vocal skills, learn how to perform at various school events, and get to enjoy fun and challenging songs from energetic directors. The chorus directors are Mrs. Dellobuono, Miss Hannigan, and Ms. Roberson. As a performing group, our standards are high, so your children will have to respect the following guidelines:
- Come to 12:35 pm rehearsals on time in the MP Room
- Agree to the behavioral expectations
- Come ready to sing and learn with full attention
- Respect other members and the Directors
For chorus performances, all chorus members will be required to wear:
- Long black dress pants (no jeans or sweatpants)
- Long-sleeved white dress shirt with a collar suitable for a bow tie
- Black shoes
- Ties and vests will be provided
Many students already have these items for dress up occasions. However, if providing these items is a hardship, let us know. We may be able to get some donated items from the community.
The Lincoln Guitar Club is open to interested 5th graders. The guitar players are directed by Miss Hannigan and meet during the Spring. More information will be posted when available.
The running program is an optional activity at lunchtime, weather permitting. Laps run are recorded and count towards awards. This program increases physical fitness, gives students an opportunity to measure their improvement, and enhance self-esteem. The students run around an 1/8 mile course on the grass field. Be sure to wear tennis shoes on running days!
Student volunteers act as "valets" to assist with morning drop-off. Valets open and close car doors and help students out with their belongings while keeping kids safe from cars. Parents are always there with the students providing supervision. The program has helped morning traffic move more smoothly, safely and efficiently.
